Reflections on Thursday’s Class

June 19, 2008 - No Responses

Today’s class was a gooid review of the benefits for reading aloud to children.  I am always surprised by the number of picture books I have.  \Yet, and equally surprising, I am overwhelmed by the number of new picture books that I could still use.  There are just too many creative thinkers and writers out there in our wonderful world!  I am still overwhelmed with how much I have to learn about technology.  I have to continue to ask for help!  Thank you so much for all that you have taught me!  I will continue to work on it and learn.  This will help my classroom in the future.

Tuesday’s class

Poetry was a superlative theme today.  There are such incredible poems to share with students.  How great they feel when they are able to write poems all by themselves.  I think everything we did today is important to include in every classroom. I know many more things about using poetry to teach phomemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.  I’m fixing to take the idea about the Dream Flag project to my school.  I hope it gets accepted.    This technology stuff is another story.  I’m going to get it.  I know I will because we have such great teachers!
